SORTA-Clear™ Series rubbers are near-clear translucent silicone rubbers (platinum catalyst) which cure at room temperature with negligible shrinkage and feature high tensile and tear strength. These silicones are often used to make one-piece cut block molds where the original model is extracted by cutting. A variety of materials (such as wax, gypsum, resins, etc.) can be cast into molds made with Sorta-Clear™ silicones.
SORTA-Clear™ 18, SORTA-Clear™ 37 and SORTA-Clear™ 40 are certified food safe and can be used for culinary applications including casting chocolate and other confections.
SORTA-Clear™ 18 is certified skin safe and can be used to create medical devices, prosthetics and other skin-contact appliances.
Ideal for making prototype, jewelry or other molds of any configuration where model visibility is important (i.e. extracting a model from the mold via cutting). SORTA-Clear™ 18 and 40 require a gram scale for measuring.
SORTA-Clear™ 18, 37, and 40 silicones are suitable for making molds for baking, casting ice, butter or chocolate and other applications used to produce food.
