Additives compatible with Smooth-On Platinum Catalyzed Silicones for altering and enhancing the characteristics and performance of the rubber compounds. Choose from a variety of colorants, cure accelerators, thinners or thickeners, adhesives and more.
Color pigments are used for coloring Smooth-On's silicone rubber compounds including the Dragon Skin™ Series and Ecoflex™ Series. SilcPig™ pigments offer excellent dispersion and consistent color and Silc Pig™ Electric Fluorescent Pigments are a line of liquid fluorescent colorants.
Thickening agent for Smooth-On silicone rubber for vertical surface application (making brush-on molds). Different viscosities can be attained by varying the amount of THI-VEX™ added as a small percentage of Part A.
Translucent liquid additive that causes cured Smooth-On silicone rubbers, urethane rubbers, plastics or foams to glow a bright blue under a focused ultra violet light source (blacklight). When mixed at low percentages it will not affect clarity or color of material and the glow effect will not be evident until the casting is illuminated by a UV light source.
Slacker™ is a one component translucent clear fluid that is added by volume or weight to Smooth-On's translucent platinum-cure silicones such as Dragon Skin™ and EcoFlex™ products. Slacker™ will change the “feel” of the silicone rubber to a softer and more “flesh-like” material. It also alters the rebound properties of the silicone, making it feel more like human tissue.
NOVOCS™ are low viscosity silicone solvents that contain no VOC’s and evaporate quickly. NOVOCS™ solvents can be used to shrink or enlarge silicone rubber molds. NOVOCS™ Gloss will leave a gloss finish and NOVOCS™ Matte will leave a matte finish on the surface of cured silicone rubber props.
WARNING - FLAMMABLE Liquid and vapor. Keep away from ignition sources and follow precautions for handling flammables.
Silicone Thinner™ is a non-reactive silicone fluid that will lower the mixed viscosity of tin cure (condensation) or platinum cure (addition) silicone rubber products. This means that the rubber will de-air faster when vacuuming and will flow better over intricate model detail.
Plat-Cat™ Platinum Silicone Cure Accelerator is an additive designed to “accelerate” the cure time of Smooth-On platinum silicones. Slo-Jo™ Platinum Silicone Cure Retarder is designed to extend the pot life (working time) of Smooth-On platinum silicone rubber and Soma Foama™ silicone foam. Using these additives will not affect the ultimate physical properties.
SLIDE™ STD Liquid Surface Tension Diffuser is an additive for platinum cure silicone rubber that creates a cured silicone piece with greatly reduced surface tension. Cured silicone slides across itself and different surfaces. Silicone surface must be exposed to air for 24 hours to bring out slide effect.
Inhibit X™ is a single component, low-viscosity liquid that provides an added measure of protection against cure inhibition when pouring platinum silicone rubbers over many surfaces including spray adhesives, tapes, wood surfaces, some plastics, SLA resins and others.
Sil‑Poxy™ is a one component adhesive made specifically for bonding RTV silicone rubber to silicone rubber and other substrates including some plastics (urethane), plasters/ceramics, fabrics, etc. Sil‑Poxy™ can be used repairing torn silicone rubber molds.
Skin Tite™ is a skin safe silicone used to create fast wounds, scars and to adhere skin effect appliances directly to the skin. It can be sculpted “on the fly”, offers maximum control and stays precisely where you put it. Cured rubber is strong and will bend/flex with body movement. Wounds and appliances will not come off until you remove them. An infinite variety of color effects are achieved using Silc Pig™ silicone pigments.
Skin safe pressure sensitive adhesive designed for temporarily adhering silicone and latex makeup prosthetic appliances to the skin. This is a low odor formulation which is cosmetic grade and non-irritating. Use Derma-tac™ Remover to dissolve Derma-tac™ and aid in removing appliances from the skin.
Temporarily adhere most surgical tapes, bandages, dressings, etc. to silicone rubber surfaces including training mannequins, devices, etc. This non-VOC formula is a low viscosity liquid that brushes on easily and dries quickly. One application lasts for repeated use.
